We are a complete performing arts school offering classes in –
Dance – Western Dance, Indian Classical Dance
Vocal – Western Vocal, Indian Classical Vocal
Instruments – Keyboard, Harmonium, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Tabla etc.
Fine arts – Drawing, Sketching, Painting, Oil Painting, Pot Painting,
Glass Painting etc.
We offer classes twice in a week/ 2 hours per week. Classes are on
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday between 4pm to
8pm and Sunday from 10 am till 2 pm.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Tansen is our inclusive

Based on past experience, we initially offered classes three days a
week. However, considering the diverse commitments of our
students and parents, we have tailored our schedule to better meet

individualized attention with small batch sizes of 5-7 students,
enabling our faculty to cater to each student’s unique needs and
provide a more effective learning experience.
Yes! We invite prospective students to experience our courses
through a complimentary demo session of atleast 15 minutes,
offered free of charge on their first visit.

Yes, we provide instruments for students during their initial
classes (typically 3-4 sessions). Following this introductory period,
students are encouraged to purchase their own instruments for

Yes, we provide certificates from Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya
upon course completion. Additionally, as affiliates of esteemed music
societies like Pracheen Kala Kendra, Prayag Sangeet Samiti, and
Trinity College London, we also offer students the opportunity to take
formal examinations with these institutions.
To appear for exams, students must submit an examination
form provided by Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya (TSM) along with
the requisite examination fee as per the affiliated society’s
requirements. Exams are subsequently conducted at designated TSM
centers or venues.
All examinations are conducted at Tansen Sangeet
Mahavidyalaya, eliminating the need for students to travel out of
station. Examiners from our affiliated societies visit our center
specifically to conduct these exams.
Within a 3-6 month period, our Kathak curriculum covers
foundational elements, including Namaskar, Tatkar, Thath, Tukdas,
Toda, Kavit, Lok Nritya, and Tihai. These fundamental components
provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Kathak
dance techniques.
In the initial 3-6 months of guitar classes, beginners can expect
to learn foundational skills, including: Basic finger exercises, Note
recognition (Sa, Re, Ga, Ma / C, D, F, G), Chord fundamentals, Simple
melodies and rhythms, Popular Bollywood songs and jingles.
In the initial 3-6 months of keyboard classes, beginners can
expect to learn foundational skills, including: Basic finger exercises,
Note recognition (Sa, Re, Ga, Ma / C, D, F, G), Chord fundamentals,
Few melodies like Birthday/ Bollywood/ Patriotic songs etc.
In the initial 3-6 months of Tabla classes, beginners can expect
to learn foundational skills, including: Basic finger movement
exercises followed by Teen Taal/ Kayde(Kaida)/ Palte/ Kaharva etc.
Mastering Tabla typically requires 8 years of dedicated study
through our structured program, which includes:
– 2-year Junior Diploma
– 2-year Senior Diploma
– 2-year Prabhakar Degree (Bachelor’s equivalent)
– 2-year Visharad Degree (Master’s equivalent)
In the first 3-6 months of Vocal training at Tansen, we teach our
students Sargam/ Alankar/ Basic Raag structures/ Patriotic/
Devotional Songs and Introductory Taal Patterns to establish a solid
foundation in Indian classical vocal music.
Western Dance classes at TSM start with stretching and aerobics
for warm-up, followed by training in various dance styles such as hip
hop, contemporary, jazz etc along with choreography on particular
songs and performance techniques to build skills and confidence.
Our drumming classes at TSM begin with proper stick handling
and movement techniques, followed by instruction in basic beats and
Western rhythm patterns. Within 3-6 months, students can master
up to eight fundamental rhythms, develop coordination, and gain an
understanding of tempo control and basic drumming notation.
No, we currently do not offer home tuition services but our
centre offers a conducive learning environment.
Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya (TSM) was established in 1972 in
Hapur, District Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, by Late Shri R. S. Verma. As
of 2025, TSM has been serving the music and performing arts
community for 53 years.
Yes, Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya organizes regular stage
performances across all its centers, providing students with valuable
performance experience. Additionally, students receive special
invitations to audition for prominent talent hunt shows, such as Sa Re
Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol and Dance India Dance.
At Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, we offer structured training
in Classical and Western music and dance. While three months is
insufficient to master complex forms like Tabla or Kathak, our expert
instructors ensure foundational skills, such as basic rhythms,
techniques, coordination are developed, enabling noticeable
progress in your child’s performance and confidence.
Yes, you can do that and continue with from the same level where you have left. We would also make you practice whatever you have forget over the years.
Yes, you can pursue further studies at a different university.
However, some institutions may require you to retake the final exam
from your previous university, while others may accept your existing
qualifications, subject to their admission criteria.
